How it started
Shá Cage is a co-founder of the MN Spoken Word Association, and has worked to give spoken word and poetry a larger platform in Minnesota. She started writing poetry ?? and began spoken word performance ??. This path has lead her to perform at ?? events and collaborate with ??.
Shá believes spoken word is an avenue to increasing literacy and explore the individual’s voice? Etc.
“I came to writing experimentally as a poet, a spoken word artist.” she explained. “Breaking the form, playing with the breaks, the alliteration, those were things that excited me.
